1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit it. They serve different purposes: some are essential to make the website work, others help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it, and others enable additional features like session recording for debugging.

Similar technologies (such as local storage and session storage) may also be used for equivalent purposes and are covered by this policy.

2. Who Sets Cookies

Cookies on the Sigil platform are set by:

- Sigil directly ("first-party cookies") — for authentication and your consent preferences;

- Sentry ("third-party cookies") — for error monitoring and optional session replay;

- LiqPay / PrivatBank ("third-party cookies") — only during payment processing.

3. Cookie Categories

We use cookies in the following categories. You can manage your preferences in the cookie settings panel, accessible at any time from the footer.

3.1 Necessary Cookies (always active)

These cookies are essential for the platform to function and cannot be disabled. They do not require consent under ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3).

All necessary cookies are set by Sigil as first-party cookies and are essential for security and access to the authenticated application.

3.2 Analytics Cookies (require consent)

These cookies help us understand how users interact with the platform — which features are used, where errors occur, and how performance can be improved. They are only set after you accept the analytics category in the cookie banner.

Sentry analytics data is processed in the EU (Sentry EU data residency option active). Data is retained for 90 days in Sentry. Personal data in error reports is anonymised where possible.

3.3 Session Replay Cookies (require consent)

Session replay records an anonymised video-like playback of user sessions to help diagnose UI bugs and usability issues. All text input and media are masked by default — passwords, personal data, and CMR contents are never captured.

Session replay is only active if you have accepted the analytics category. Recordings are stored for 30 days and are accessible only to Sigil engineering personnel for debugging purposes.

3.4 Payment Cookies (active during payment only)

When you initiate a payment, the LiqPay payment widget (operated by JSC CB PrivatBank, PCI DSS certified) may set cookies or tokens required for secure payment processing and 3D Secure authentication. These cookies are strictly necessary for the payment transaction and are not used for tracking or marketing purposes.

These tokens are set only during active payment flow and are deleted when the payment session ends. For details, see LiqPay's privacy policy at liqpay.ua.

4. Cookies We Do Not Use

Sigil does not use:

- Advertising or tracking cookies;

- Social media cookies (no social share buttons or embedded feeds);

- Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or other marketing trackers;

- Fingerprinting techniques.

5. Third-Party Cookies

Sentry: A third-party error monitoring service. When analytics cookies are accepted, Sentry may set cookies in your browser. Sentry's privacy policy: https://sentry.io/privacy/. 6. Managing Your Preferences

Cookie banner: When you first visit the platform, a cookie banner allows you to accept or reject analytics and session replay cookies. You can change your preferences at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer. Withdrawing consent: You can withdraw consent for analytics/replay cookies at any time through the cookie settings panel. Withdrawal takes effect immediately — Sentry cookies will be deleted from your browser and no new analytics data will be collected. Browser settings: You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in or using the platform.
